It started with a music team practise, a flurry in the kitchen and a search for the boxed Christmas tree. The music team was ready, the tea cups set and the Christmas tree stood (a little smaller than last year for many kids). The friends were greeted and the eating shared, and then it was time to start.
|Setting up the Tree|
In a gathering of familiar faces in a well-know place, we joined our voices (high and low, young and old) and sang the Christmas carols. For some, we knew the words well , for others they are getting there and then for the tiniest it was a first Christmas and a first Carol Service and totally unknown words (ok, so he will learn).
And we were once again in awe of this amazing God who sent his Son for ME, whether I know the words to the carols or not …. Whether its my first Christmas or my 80th Christmas. Every Christmas is different, because we change ….. but God stays the same!
