Again this year, the bikers joined together to do the 31st Annual Toy Run. The collection of bikes was a clear cross section of all types available. Adventure to Super Bikes to Tourers to Classics and of course a couple of eye catching Harleys. The congregation did a sterling job of collecting soft toys and teddy’s for the bikers to take. In the end, four and a half black bags full were taken along between the 12 bikes.
Jim managed to carry the lions share by packing his panniers full to the brim, while most others just cable tied the gifts to their bikes in typical fashion. Joan gave the bikers the lead out from the church on her scooter and did a great job of setting the pace till we reached the dual carriage ways. She kept us tightly bunched up which made for a great spectacle. It was an absolute treat to see Dion on the RD 350…..my all time boyhood dream bike.
Reaching the Benoni sports grounds we joined in the madness with thousands of other bikers. Dropping of the gifts at the ever growing pile under the massive marque we posed for a group photo. It was a great day out and a big shout out to all those who got involved through prayer, donating gifts, advertising or riding bikes!
